The objectives of the Maggie L. Walker Governor's School chapter of the National Science Honor Society are:
- to encourage and recognize scientific and intellectual thought,
- to encourage a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all of mankind,
- to encourage students to participate in science-related community service,
- to advance student's knowledge of classical and modern thought, and
